                                                 source accomplishments

Ans: It started from my freshman year at college when I
explored random resources out there. Earlier googled
hard, then learnt to google smart and this way
somehow I got introduced to many keywords. I got an
overview picture of different technical terms, their

                                                 meanings and relevance.
I started programming in C/C++, Java, learnt basics of
web development, JS frameworks, etc. then delved
deeper into various topics. I started doing my side
projects, later came across the term, ‘Open Source’. I
Nikita Jibkate made my first contribution to Fossasia, submitted pull

request with svg image. I was very delighted by the first

OpenSource Then I came to know about Google Summer of Code
Contributor (GSoC) in my sophomore year and this is how I got
introduced to wonderful world of open source. Google
Summer of Code (also called GSoC) is all about
contributing to open-source projects. This program is
Google’s initiative to support open source. It is an
International annual program held from May to August
where open source organizations submit their projects

for university students to work upon during the
summer, for which successful students receive stipends
along with many other benefits. I participated,
submitted my proposal and got selected for the project:
Easier Project Model Management under Sigmah
Organisation. The amount of learning and the exposure
I had received because of GSoC is incomparable to any

of my other experiences so far. My mentors Olivier
Sarrat and S P Mohanty, had been my biggest source of
learning. During GSoC, they taught me valuable things
which made me write elegant code and make better
product designs. It was really wonderful experience.
After completing the project successfully, my work was
well appreciated by community that for the further year
main project facilitator of Sigmah gave me an
opportunity to be a GSoC Mentor.
