Team Cybrotics

Team Cybrotics of Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad, is a group of robotics enthusiasts who have been fabricating robots since 2010. We have been participating in ABU- Robocon, an International Robotic Contest for the last  9 years. Every year, we fabricate a robot to meet the demands of the given problem statement and complete all the tasks assigned to it.

The club aims to technically strengthen the students by integrating their skills in the various fields of Engineering & technology, to cope up with the highly competitive environment.

In the Year 2019, Team Cybrotics of our college won the “MATLAB Simulink Contest” held along with Robocon Competition with the highest score and got the cash prize of Rs35000. In the Main Competition which was held at IIT-Delhi on 16th June Team Cybrotics achieved All India Rank 7th.

The onset of Covid brought almost halt to the activities of the club due to the ongoing restrictions. But as soon as the Robocon theme was introduced, the team members were back on their feet. It also marked the beginning of planning and strategizing on virtual platforms. During the Covid, the team was busy in research, prototyping and analysing the data through CAD, MATLAB  and other resources. The fabrication and elopment of robots got badly affected due to the restrictions but at the same time providing us with enough time to organize plans of execution/action.

Currently, we are finalising the Robots for the competition based on our data. The team is looking forward to sharing the knowledge and experiences with students through the virtual workshops with the main objective being the submission of a detailed design paper/report for stage 1 of Robocon.

The competition is getting more challenging and interesting with each passing year ultimately leading to further innovation. As students, the team is always trying to learn from our surroundings and keep ourselves updated with the advancements.

Even in the COVID times, the teams were as active as it was previously. The Team consisted of Aniket Murtadak, Vaibhav Jadhav, Mrunali Despande, Priti Songade, Nilesh Abhang, Rutuja Mahale, Sneashish Saha, Akshay Asturkar, Malhar Garje, Anshul Pandey, Venkatesh Mahamuni, Anupama Darkonde, Aryan Bharote, Ankush Kurmi, Chirayu Gorantyal, Satyam Mahakalkar, Shivam Gupta, Akshita Khandelwal, Pranav Dudhane, Advait Kulkarni, Eshwari Burlawar, Shantanu Khadse, Shreyas Hanmante, Pooja Wayal, Manisha Mahajan, Abhishek Zune, Abhishek Ghadge, Sneha Ghule.

On a brief note, the Team Cybrotics has come along a long path. A path that is exhausting but exhilarating!

Team Aryans

"We remain heirs of a LEGACY, heirs of a DREAM"

For the past nine years, Team Aryans Racing, a team of students of different disciplines from Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad has participated in the SAE Baja design challenge.

The goal of this competition is to apply technical engineering skills to a hands-on project by designing and building an off-road racing vehicle. This team competes against top engineering students across India and the world.
SAE Baja is an intercollegiate design competition run by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).

Teams of students from colleges all over India design and build small off-road racing vehicles and compete against each other at annual conferences. By simulating real-world design scenarios, students learn the skills that will help them become successful engineers and successful professionals.

Amidst this pandemic situation, because of nationwide lockdown, competition changed its face to complete virtual type. This situation challenged the team members to work from their homes remotely, but whatever the situation was, the team was determined and started working according to the conditions to face the never experienced scenarios. The design work started remotely via digital channels for meetings and discussions.

We didn't stop here; we arranged a virtual recruitment drive to continue this knowledge transfer process to the next faces of the team.We were unstoppable and to continue this decade-long legacy, our team participated for the 2021 Virtual event.

The first stage of the competition concluded on 13th December 2020 and our team continued its glorious streak by achieving 5th Rank all over India

Pandemic introduced new challenges in the second leg of competition, including Virtual Dynamic Events through real life simulation software IPG from Germany. Team is working on the new challenges and will make sure to seal the title this year.

Team Aarambh

Team Aarambh was created in the year 2018 by some students of batch 2019. The main objective of the team is to explore the possibilities into space exploration and design a cubesat and its payload in upcoming years. Beside this the other goal of team is to involve various students from different streams of engineering and show them different opportunities in space industry.

We were selected as one of the institute for student initiative program among the various applicants and also were asked to present our team project in front of ISRO’s scientists. Our team has presented the proposal for space based experiment payload on 28th may 2020 to ISRO headquartes for PS-4 orbital platform opportunity. We have established our own semi-autonomouss ground station for tracking various satellites at roof of ENTC department.

During this tough time of covid-19 whole world is facing problem and we are not the exception. Our plans have been hit hard due to campus closure in this unprecedented time. Still we have encouraged our team members to try and learn different things from the comfort of there home and to take various online courses from IIRS-ISRO outreach programme. We tried to remain connected and confident about our goals.

We had come a long way by transforming our small ideas into reality one by one and still marching towards our end goal. We have actively participated in diamond jubilee program of our college demonstrating our ideas in our stall.

We are looking for more number of students to take interest in space science & astronomy and thus come up with more innovative ideas in the form of small projects so that we can help human civilization to be a multiplanetary species.

Team Kalarpan

The cultural group of GECA, Kalarpan, over the years ,has participated in two major competitions Purushottam and Firodiya Karandak. Purushottam Karandak is an inter-university one act play competition that provides a platform for young aspiring actors. Our college started its journey few years back, in 2017. The first year was fruitful to the team, they secured second prize from the Jalgaon region. Since then, the team has been a power player in the competition. The team was the winner of Purushottam 2019.

Firodiya Karandak is a renowned Pune-based inter-college competition which showcases various artforms and, is a magnificent event in itself. Painting, dancing, music, dramatics are some of the artforms featured in Firodiya. Our team has been participating for quite a time now, and has received recognition over the years. Though an underdog in the first few years, our team has completely changed its image over the years. Now, the team is recognized with respect and also appreciated for its efforts. The team has been successful to get into the finals more than once. The team dominates the competition, even after being an out-of-Pune college.

Due to COVID situations, this year the competitions were dormant. But this did not stop the team members from scoring achievements.
The teams aspires to dominate and hopefully win the competitions in the future.

Digital Team

A well-diverse group of 16 students is a part of the team. The team manages and implements tasks as per requirements from different departments and clubs. We aim towards developing digital marketing content for every workshop and event the college hosts.

Covid-19 has changed a lot with everything shifting to the virtual domain. This has opened up scope for us to work even harder and smarter. To sum up, what we have done so far, the digital team was initially formed to handle social media accounts for Wings. We have gradually built our scope beyond that. We look forward to being able to manage the entire institution's digital requirements, be it content creation, digital banners and posters, social media marketing, video editing, and graphics. We aim to build a self-reliant GECA with zero outsourcing of digital projects.
The digital team is brainstorming ideas to skill the entire team and come up with technical and professional digital marketing workshops, sessions, and online courses.
The team would like to take the opportunity to extend their gratitude towards Dr. Vivek Kshirsagar sir for always being supportive in all the initiatives taken.
