("Powering the Future: Unleashing Innovation in Electric Vehicle R&D")

Introduction:
Our club has experienced remarkable success in recent years, garnering recognition and accolades in various competitions and events. Despite facing challenges such as limited funding and official club authorization, our dedicated members have showcased their passion and commitment to making a difference. This article highlights our notable achievements and ongoing projects, shedding light on our journey as a club.

Past Achievements:
First Prize in the Mobility Section of DIPEX 23:
1. In the esteemed DIPEX 23 event, a Maharashtra and Goa state competition organized by ABVP and SUJAN Trust, our club emerged victorious in the Event. We received the first prize for our outstanding project on "Retrofitment of EV with Regenerative Braking and Smart Helmet." This achievement not only recognized our technical prowess but also demonstrated our commitment to promoting sustainable transportation solutions.

Second Prize for Paper Presentation in Energy Conclave by CMIA:
2. Our club also showcased its research and presentation skills in the Energy Conclave organized by CMIA. We proudly secured the second prize for our compelling paper presentation. This accomplishment underscored our club's dedication to exploring innovative ideas and addressing the challenges faced by the energy sector.

Overcoming Challenges:
The path to success is seldom without obstacles, and our club faced its fair share of challenges. Despite these hurdles, our members remained resilient, determined, and united in their pursuit of excellence.

Struggles for Funding:
1. One of our significant challenges was securing adequate funds for our foundational projects. We encountered difficulties in sourcing financial support, but through sheer determination and resourcefulness, we managed to find alternative means and leverage partnerships to overcome this hurdle. This experience instilled in us a valuable lesson about the importance of resource management and creative problem-solving.

Official Club Authority:
2. While we faced setbacks in obtaining official club authorization within our college, our members did not allow this to dampen their spirits. Instead, we embraced the opportunity to operate as a dedicated group of enthusiasts, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and motivation. We believe that true success stems from the passion and drive of individuals, regardless of official recognition.

Throughout our journey, Prof. S M Shinde Sir from our college has been an invaluable source of guidance and support. His wisdom and expertise have helped us navigate through the challenges we faced, offering valuable insights and solutions. We are grateful for his mentorship, which has played a pivotal role in our success.

Current Projects and Research:
Our club continues to explore the forefront of technology and innovation, focusing primarily on Electric Vehicle (EV) research and development. Here are some of the exciting projects currently underway:

Hydrogen Fuel Cell Research:
1. We are actively investigating the potential of hydrogen fuel cells as a clean and sustainable energy source for EVs. Through rigorous experimentation and collaboration with industry experts, we aim to contribute to the development of efficient and commercially viable hydrogen fuel cell technology.

Ultracapacitor Integration for EVs:
2. Recognizing the significance of energy storage systems in EVs, our club is engaged in research on ultracapacitors. We are exploring ways to enhance energy efficiency, improve regenerative braking capabilities, and optimize the overall performance of electric vehicles through the integration of ultracapacitor technology.

Team LiGHT SAMVEDNA

LIGHT SAMVEDNA is a student-run NGO of our college. It's an autonomous center of the Gopali Youth Welfare Society (GYWS) at IIT Kharagpur. Light Samvedna is a group of dedicated individuals who are highly motivated to eradicate problems faced by society. Light Samvedna's motto is to make the world a better place by promoting social change, educating people, and providing financial assistance to children. Light Samvedna has won several accolades this academic year, thereby increasing the prestige of the college and the club.

In SAMAVESH, an annual event organized by GYWS (Gopali Youth Welfare Society) at IIT Kharagpur, Light Samvedna won two prizes while competing with 13 LiGHT centers from all over India. The two prizes the club won were:

- Most active LiGHT center award
- Best Innovative activities award

The college SAT Alumni Team also awarded Light Samvedna with the Badge of Honour in recognition of their social work. Throughout the year, Light Samvedna conducted various programs, primarily focusing on orphaned and disadvantaged children, whom they believe, if given the opportunity, can create a better future for themselves and society.

Samvedna organized a Blood Donation camp on December 6th, 2022. The camp was a success with 111 successful donations. Team Samvedna was awarded by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Dattaji Bhale blood bank. Light Samvedna distributed notebooks to students of Municipal School, Kiradpura, on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day. 

Light Samvedna has grand future plans that could bring about positive change in our society:

Flagship event: The motive is to educate children, raise awareness, and enable them to learn about various topics, both academic and beyond academic boundaries.
Water Conservation: The team aims to collaborate with organizations like Pani Foundation and Har ghar Jal. The club also wishes to work on a water conservation drive that is essential for drought-affected areas like the Marathwada region.

Personality Development Club

Personality Development Club (PD Club) has risen as a transformative club within our college community, dedicated to enhancing students' personalities while fostering their technological growth. PD Club's foundation rests upon three essential pillars: Competence, Character, and Culture. Recognizing that true education extends beyond academic degrees, the club emphasizes the significance of wise decision-making and moral integrity. The club encourages students to cultivate a well-rounded personality that embraces diversity and equips them to thrive in a globally interconnected world.

PD Club has organized a series of captivating events that have left a lasting impact. One notable event was the TEDxGECA (2020) conference, which featured distinguished speakers including Dr. Anand Munshi, a renowned motivational speaker and life coach, who delivered an inspiring talk on "Re-Engineering the Mind". Another memorable event was a seminar on "Stress to Success" conducted by Mr. Jai Gehlot, a manager at Veritas, Pune, offering valuable insights on managing stress for personal and professional growth. The club also facilitated a 15-day offline internship program on AI and ML in collaboration with IIT Delhi, providing students with practical exposure to cutting-edge technologies. Lastly, the club expanded its reach with a central workshop held in Nashik, extending the benefits of personality development and leadership guidance to a wider audience. The club would like to move forward in the future with  events that focus on the power of habits, study seminars and career development.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of GECA  is a non-profit students organization that aims to create a world of entrepreneurial culture for students and Faculties of the institute which proliferate the young minds in diverse fields.
The club establish connections between student entrepreneurs with market leaders and support them by providing necessary resources such as seed funding, mentoring, consulting and networking
Here at EDC, they make the society aware about entrepreneurship as well as to Embark it as the key to the nation's development.

Team EDC GECA 2021-22 Got 7th rank in NEC competition (National Entrepreneurship Challenge) Organized by E-Cell IIT Bombay.

Team EDC at  'FIELD VISIT TO INCUBATION UNIT' In Association with Marathwada Accelerator for Growth and Incubation Council (MAGIC) and Team EDC at 'PRARAMBH'Atal Incubation Centre-Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University are some our field visits.

EDC organized many competitions like Startup Carnival, Ideathon, Quiz and Socialit, etc. and seminars like Startup Journey, Market Analysis and so on.

Team Catalyst

“Nothing is true, everything is permitted” following this ideology the engines of minds roared to begin discussion for catalyst 7.0 and the product was a blend of opinions, thoughts, debates, laughs, criticisms, and teamwork from a team who had decided to make this year the most interactive. For this year was an exceptional one as it was the year when the inaugural edition of college newsletter “Abhivyakti” was published which stood as a beacon for all the college students and clubs to find a glorious platform for showcasing talents!

As in the main motive of Team Catalyst is to give boost to student’s activities and encourage them to resurrect their hidden talents as well as hobbies. Team Catalyst took the charge and acted as a frontier club and organised various competitions such as essay writing competition on occasion of constitution day and under the “Vichardhara 2023” celebrating Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and Mahatma Phule’s birth anniversary essay writing, poetry writing, painting and quiz competition were organised. Also, Team Catalyst’s reach & efforts made it possible for some highly renowned personalities like Vivek Sawant Chief Mentor of MKCL, Gurucharan Das an author and ex CEO Procter & Gamble (P&G) and Karthi Subbaraman a Professional System Designer to give their valuable interviews and a message to follow in life.

Team Catalyst itself works as a professional organization with various teams working simultaneously and synchronically like non other in the institute, the club is an integration of Five teams that include, Writers team, Web Dev Team, Designers Team, Social Media Team and the Corporate Team. Each having members with mastery in their art. Currently the team has kept itself busy in Panorama, the 360° view indeed so that no stone is left unturned, every angle of a thought to be inspected to keep society aware of every possibility. Team Udaan

Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad has a glorious heritage of giving this country many outstanding administrative officers for administrative service. With a clear intention to increase the percentage of students of our college in administrative services, a group of students who were interested in administrative services formed "Team Udaan" with the objective of "From Engineers to Officers". Since its inception, Udaan team has been taking innovative activities for the students preparing for administrative services and as a result, they have made a valuable contribution in creating an environment related to the preparation of competitive exams in the college. In this process, Udaan Club is getting important guidance from faculty advisor Dr. Sanjay Shinde sir. October 15 is India's Missile Man Bharatratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam's birthday i.e. "Vachan Prerna Diwas". In celebration of this Vachan Prerna Day, Team Udaan inaugurated a library named "Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Vachankatta". The Udaan team has always strived for innovative experiments for the students preparing for the competitive exams and this Vachankatta stands out among them all. This Vachankatta is useful for maps, globes, newspapers, magazines, competitive exam books.

Also, sessions are always organized by the Udan Club under the inspirational guidance of officers working in various fields like administrative, defense etc. Continuing this tradition, Sub Lieutenant Devyani Kulkarni, who is working in the Indian Navy, held an interaction session with the students on 11th December. Sub Lt. Devyani Kulkarni is an alumnus of 2020 batch of computer branch of our government engineering college. In the said session, Devyani Kulkarni highlighted the career opportunities available for students in the defense sector and the things that need to be done to succeed in it. He elaborated his experience while preparing for these exams in this dialogue session. Many doors are being opened for women to enter all branches of the Indian Army and as many young women as possible should make use of this opportunity to fulfill their dreams of defense services. He also resolved the questions and doubts of the students in this interaction session. Also for the students who are preparing for the Udaan Club competitive exam, Udaan Club is uploading the newspapers in PDF form every morning on Udaan Club channel on Telegram mobile app. Along with that, competitive exam notifications and study materials are published. Udaan Club is empowering all student's dreams by providing guidance and materials.

Training and Placement Cell GECA


The Training and Placement Office of Government College of Engineering Aurangabad, has achieved a remarkable placements season this year. The Training and Placement Office (T&P Cell), is currently led by Dr A.M. Nikalje who along with the student coordinators has been tirelessly working to provide students with opportunities to work for reputed companies. The T&P cell has earned acclaim for delivering exemplary placements opportunities to CSE, IT, ENTC, EEP, Civil, Mechanical, and MCA students. Regardless of their branch, students have a chance to interview for a diverse range of roles consisting of software, core and consulting firms. They are provided guidance and mentorship through various workshops, skill enhancement and training activities conducted by the cell. The T&P cell had organized the 'Employability Skill Enhancement Training Program' in the month of August 2022 for final year students.

The placement data from the past three years reveals that companies have recruited students from the IT, CSE, and ENTC departments, offering packages ranging from INR 3.00 to 14.00 LPA, with an average package of around 6 LPA. Similarly, companies hiring candidates from the EEP, Mech, and Civil departments have offered packages ranging from INR 4.00 to 7.00 LPA, with an average package of 5.5 LPA. The T&P cell continues to encourage us, fueling our determination to persistently make efforts, actively participate in all placement activities, and enhance our skills. This support enables us to face interviews with confidence.

Team Arambh

Team Arambh, the esteemed astronomy club at GECA (Government Engineering College Aurangabad), has a commendable track record in the realm of space exploration. Their mission is to construct and launch GECA’s own satellite, enabling the collection and preservation of knowledge. With a strong desire to delve into the mysteries of space, the team is dedicated to studying atmospheric attributes and embarking on a self-driven learning initiative.

Satellite Projects: Team Arambh’s impressive endeavors include the proposal of the SHUNYA student satellite mission. Meticulously designed, the project aims to study atmospheric characteristics and expand the realm of space science knowledge. The comprehensive project report was submitted to ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) for consideration and potential collaboration.

GECA BALLOON: In another notable feat, Team Arambh executed the GECA BALLOON project. Through this initiative, a remotely operated balloon was employed for area surveillance, capturing valuable data over a span of 2-3 days. This successful projects how cased the team’s resourcefulness in utilizing alternative methods for data collection and analysis.

Events and Workshops: 
Throughout the academic year 2022-2023, Team Arambh organized a series of captivating events and workshops top romote interest in astronomy and space science among students.

1. Star Gazing: In April 2022, Team Arambh hosted an enchanting Star Gazing event exclusively for GECA students. More than 50participants marveled at celestial objects, deepening their understanding of the night sky.

2. Workshop at S.B School: Team Arambh conducted an informative General Astronomy workshop for students in grades 8, 9, and 10 at S.B School. Over 100 students actively participated, gaining insights into various astronomical concepts and phenomena.

3. Guest Lecture-Seminar: In collaboration with CATALYST, Team Arambh organized a guest lecture-seminar featuring renowned speaker Sudhir Fakatkar. His captivating talk, titled “From Beginning till Present,” attracted over 30 students, providing unique insights into the evolution of space science.

Future Endeavors: 
Moving forward, Team Arambh aims to reconstruct their Ground Station Antenna to enhance satellite tracking and communication capabilities. This project will play a vital role in advancing the team’s goals, facilitating further progress, and fostering continuous learning.

Team Cybrotics

Past Achievements 

● Total  80 teams registered for the competition DD-ROBOCON 2022 in the first round from which 43 teams were shortlisted for the final round. Our team qualified the first round with 80 marks out of 100 and secured AIR-5 in the second round scoring 94 marks out of 100 and was among the top 16 teams at super league matches in the Final Round.
● Won First prize in Fastest Line Follower at Annual Technical Festival organized by MGM University. 

Current Projects 

The team is currently working for WRC-Technoxian, an esteemed robotics competition. Their primary focus lies one xcelling in following two competitions: Robosoccer and the fastest line follower And Team is aiming to represent India in ABU-Robocon 2024.

Seminars Conducted 
Conducted Tinkering with Arduino –Technical Workshop with a huge participation of around 70 students and gave hands-on experience to practically develop Arduino based projects individually to everyone using electronic sensors, actuators and much more.

कलार्पण परफॉर्मिंग आर्ट्स क्लब जो कलार्पण या नावानेओळखला जातो. “कलार्पण”, अर्थात शासकीय अभियांत्रिकी महाविद्यालयाचा कला उपासक संघ.

खरंतर कलार्पणने पुरूषोत्तम करंडक स्पर्धेत2016 पासून सहभागी व्हायला सुरुवात केली आणि तेव्हापासूनच सर्वांचा एकच ध्यास होतातो म्हणजे मानाचा पुरुषोत्तम करंडक मिळवण्याचा. हा सीनियर्सचा ध्यास त्यांचे तप अविरतसुरूच आहे. आणि याच तपश्चर्येचे फळ म्हणजे यावर्षी आपल्या महाविद्यालयाच्या संघानेमिळवलेला पुरुषोत्तम महाकरंडक.

पुरुषोत्तम करंडक 2022 या नामांकित एकांकिकास्पर्धेत भानगड या एकांकिकेने मानाचा पुरुषोत्तम करंडक मिळवला. मॅट्रिक, विठ्ठल, क्रांती,अशा उत्तमोत्तम कलाकृतींचा इतिहास असलेल्या कलार्पण च्या “भानगड” ने शेवटी इतिहास रचला.

‘भानगड' या एकांकिकेने प्राथमिक फेरीत म्हणजेचजळगाव फेरीत सांघिक द्वितीय, सर्वोत्कृष्ट लेखक आणि अभिनय उत्तेजनार्थ हे पुरस्कार मिळवले. तसेच अंतिम फेरीत मानाच्या पुरुषोत्तम करंडका बरोबरच सर्वोत्कृष्ट दिग्दर्शक अभिनय नैपुण्य- स्त्री  आणि अभिनय उत्तेजणार्थ या पुरस्कारांवरही आपले नाव रेखाटले.   

पुरुषोत्तम करंडक बरोबरच फिरोदिया करंडक यास्पर्धेतही आपण महाविद्यालयातर्फे सहभाग नोंदवत असतो. 2023 साली राम-राम ही एकांकिकाफिरोदिया करंडक या स्पर्धेत सादर करण्यात आली. याही स्पर्धेत स्वरचित संगीत, अभिनय उत्तेजनार्थ आणि विशेष पारितोषिक हे पुरस्कार मिळवले.
