PURUSHOTTAM KARANDAK is a one act play competition in Pune which has earned its place as
one of the most popular competition in cultural field.It is conducted in various regions all over
Maharashtra.GECA participated in Purushottam 2017 with a play' Fashicha Dor' .
In this year the preparations of Purushottam started in the month of june-july with a
search for script and theme.Abhay Pingle- the writer of the story came up with a theme of 2 village boys
who want to pursue their passion of acting and the challenges they face in the film industry.The theme
was finalised and practice sessions of 'NATAK' started in july. Slowly a team of 14 was built and the
journey towards victory began.The team performed in 1st Round of the competition in Jalgaon and
bagged 2nd prize for Best Team ( Sanghik Dwitiya)
Abhay Pingle- won the Award for Best actor and the team was appreciated by organizers for their
unique theme and presentation.It was for the first time that GECA was taking a KARANDAK back
home.
Purushottam KARANDAK Finals were held in Pune in Dec 2017.GECA competed with 15 other
teams in the finals. First time in history of college we ended up being in the Finals of such a prestigious
competition. 'NATAK' got appreciation from the audience and GECA announced its arrival on the big
stage. Abhay Pingle- was awarded Consolation prize for acting in finals .
Abhay Pingle- and Adarsh Malpeddiwar- performed the lead roles in the play while the
technical team was
Shivam Pamnani(Lights) and Prathamesh Kanade (Sound) .Music was composed by Naresh
Nagapurkar
