This was GECA’S fourth year to participate in Firodiya Karandak.
Act Name: KATHEKARI (folk story teller)- Written by Abhay Pingle,
Directed by Prathmesh Kanade
Story: The play KATHEKARI is about a group of adivasis who perform adivasi art forms and showcase
their rich culture. The group is led by Mangal Murmu who writes adivasi folk songs and directs the
program. He has been performing shows since any years with a large participation from the tribes, but
over the years the participation reduced dramatically, yet the group is formed for the show somehow.
But the story takes a twist when the group finds out involvement of some government officials trying to
invade their lands. So, the story is about a group who is trying to perform their adivasi program and
how they end up protesting against govt. officials.

puzzle art, paintings.
GECA is moving one step ahead with every succeeding year . For the first time in the history of
Fiodiya ,a team from outside Pune entered into the finals. GECA earned its bright identity in the Pune-
dominant competition. We bagged 12 individual prizes in almost all art forms. With this enthusiasm,
dedication , hard work and support from college, we are sure to bring karandak next year.
